I broke down and bought some Boca burger patties yesterday, and for lunch, I had a burger!
It's even on a whole-wheat bun!
I'm actually surprised it's taken me this long. I lasted over two weeks...I'm impressed with myself!
I love the Boca patties better than any other one I've tried. Boca actually tastes almost like bad beef. It's no substitute for a real burger, but if you dress it up right and don't look directly at it, it's a passable substitute for a desperate carnivore. Last time I experimented in vegetarianism, I lived off these things.
I bought an Amy's veggie pot pie for dinner.
I failed to note that there were no microwave directions. It's been years since I've bought a pot pie, but I wanted one for some reason, and I've forgotten that it's just plain hard to find a simple, microwaveable pot pie! I said screw it and threw it in the microwave anyway for six minutes. This one came out hot, but the crust was a bit chewy. Oh well. It's edible.
Back when I pretty much lived at the community college, one of my BFFs and I would stop by the grocery store before class to get some foodstuffs. One day, we bought some pot pies that were on sale for a buck a piece or something. I don't recall the brand, but we got back to the dining area, only to discover the pie tins were foil!
Fortunately, we got creative. We removed the pie tins, and used the boxes they came in as plates. The pot pies almost kept their shape! They were edible, and that was the main point. After that incident, we were always careful to double-check for microwaveable-ness, and found our options surprisingly limited.
Seriously, why is it so hard to find microwaveable pot pies? At least, it seems to be that way for me.
