For lunch, I went to the grocery store. Our grocery store is pretty awesome, as they have a huge vegan selection in their deli, and I knew I could find something I could eat there. They have all sorts of strange and unusual sandwiches, like Greek and Thai wraps. They also have things like mexi-bean wraps and pulled-pork BBQ wraps They like to showcase their more unusual sandwiches in the deli cooler. If you just want a "regular" sandwich (meat, cheese, maybe some lettuce), then you're probably out of luck at the deli cooler and will have to go up to the deli counter.
However, I witnessed something awful today. It was sandwich abuse! I know many of their wraps and such are rather unique, but this woman was throwing them back down into the pile, sighing and huffing and generally acting displeased at the selection. I think she literally slammed down every single sandwich and wrap in the case. I guess she just didn't want to try something new, which is a shame, because their sandwiches, while different, are generally pretty awesome.
I had to wait for her to finish abusing all the sandwiches before I could move in and grab mine. The lesson is: don't trash stuff that isn't yours! Just because you don't like it doesn't the next person isn't going to want it. Gah!
Okay, rant aside. I was finally able to grab a Thai Tofu Wrap and some veggie spring rolls from the deli cooler. They were delish! Sort of sweet-and-spicy.
Very, very tasty indeed! The wrap was stuffed full of tofu and peanut sauce and peppers and some other stuff that I've forgotten about. I already threw away the wrapper, too. Oops. I'll get it next time.
I have to go figure out something for dinner now. I'm tired and don't want to, but I guess I have to, huh?
